The customized Schulich Executive Education Centre/CIPH Leadership Edge Program has been designed to develop the leaders in the Plumbing and Heating Industry. This exciting new program has been created based on feedback from members through various training needs surveys.

 

The curriculum will help participants develop competency in the areas of business analytics, leadership, strategic thinking and succession planning in the plumbing and heating industry during a time of increased competition and transformational change.  


The Leadership Edge Training Program will provide managers at all levels with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed based on industry specific case studies. Participants will learn new skills and techniques needed to create value for your customers and bring out the best in the people who work with and for you

 

 

Who should attend Leadership Edge? Senior Executives and Senior Managers, Regional Managers, Marketing Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors, Business Development Executives and Future Industry Leaders. This senior leadership certificate program boasts an interactive learning format that includes current case examples and peer-to-peer expertise exchange.

 

Registration (Limited to 25 people): Early bird pricing: $4,999+ tax per person before December 22, 2017 ($5,299 after). Registration fee includes all course materials and breakfast, lunch, breaks, and breakout rooms. Schedule & Curriculum for February 13th & 14th

 

Module 1: February 13, 2018: Strategic Thinking - This session focuses on applying today’s most advanced strategic planning methodologies to execute new business initiatives. Participants will examine the relationship between their job, the value they create and the strategic goals of their organization, while identifying critical success factors and barriers to achieving business targets.


FACILITATOR - BRETT RICHARDS, Ph.D. Dr. Brett Richards is the founder and president of consulting firm Connective Intelligence Inc. A Master Trainer in Effective Intelligence®, an international business-based system designed to improve individual and team strategic thinking skills and system-wide collaboration, he brings more than 17 years of experience to the concepts of strategic thinking and organizational intelligence within a business context. He has also served as a Master Trainer and Coach with the EQ-i® (emotional quotient inventory) and is the developer of Emotional Power®, a practical business-based model used to apply the concepts of emotional intelligence in the workplace. Brett is a senior facilitator for the Schulich School of Business at York University and holds a doctorate in Human Organizational Systems. 

 

Module 2: February 14, 2018: Leveraging Your Leadership - This top-rated session is designed to help managers achieve peak performance in their role as leader, communicator and change agent. Topics covered will include key leadership competencies, leadership styles and when to use each. Also included are tips on building interpersonal relationships and propelling your individual team members to their highest level of performance.

FACILITATOR - CY CHARNEY. One of the Schulich School of Business, York University’s top instructors, Cy Charney is a leading Canadian thought leader in the area of organizational performance. He has developed a variety of unique interventions to help organizations in both the private and public sector become leaders in their field. He delivers a practical approach with enthusiasm, energy and a sense of humor and is a seasoned trainer who customizes programs with the intention of adding value to internal and external customers. He is an acknowledged leader in the area of self directed learning having created a unique system of team learning called Peer Mentoring™ which is used by organizations around the world. Cy is also a top Canadian consultant for his clients which include a number of Fortune 500 companies and government departments around the world.

 

Schedule & Curriculum for April 17th & 18th

 

Module 3: April 17, 2018: Business Analytics - How are today’s most forward-thinking organizations using business analytics and data science to make more informed business decisions? This module will allow participants to begin evaluating how their organization can grow through more effective use of data analytics. Participants will discover patterns, correlations, trends, preferences, interactions and other useful details to support knowledgeable decisions and learn how to effectively communicate data findings.

FACILITATOR - MURAT KRISTAL Ph.D. Dr. Kristal is an associate professor of operations management at Schulich School of Business at York University. He teaches in the areas of business operations strategy, channel management and customer modeling. Dr. Kristal received his PhD from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests focus on the areas of supply chain, operations and service management strategy. He has helped diverse companies to manage their customer relationships using predictive analytics.

 

Module 4: April 18, 2018: Succession Planning - What is it and why is it important? This session will answer the aforementioned questions and help you develop a succession strategy. Learn how to identify and develop high potential employees and discover the best ways to retain them. Link succession to overall business strategy.

  FACILITATOR - GAIL LEVITT Ph.D. Dr. Gail Levitt teaches both open enrollment and custom programs at the Schulich Executive Education Centre. She teaches topics such as stakeholder management, negotiation strategies, effective communication skills, leadership, coaching and succession planning. Gail is President of Levitt Communications, which is celebrating 22 years of success working with leaders to be more agile communicators and strategists when influencing and negotiating to achieve successful results. Her clients include SNC-Lavalin, Province of Ontario, TD Bank, Toronto Hydro, Cap-Gemini, PMI, Transport Canada, and Bell Canada.
