The Association of Independent Manufacturers’ Representatives (AIM/R) and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) announce that the two associations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for communication and cooperation in the continued development of the Plumbing and Heating Industry in North America.
Signing of the MOU: (L-R) AIM/R President Stew Chaffee (Rich-Tomkins Co.), CIPH 2015-2016 Chairman Siân Smith (Noble Corp.) and CIPH Agents’ Council Chairman Andrew Dyck (Barclay Sales).
CIPH and AIM/R intend to create an organized and systematic approach for sharing information between the two organizations through the exchange of publications, memorandums and materials from both respective association endeavors, as well as from an exchange of information through conferences, educational forums, industry meetings, exhibitions, seminars, site visits and other related undertakings sponsored or attended by members of both associations.
The MOU was signed by Stew Chaffee, President of AIM/R and Siân Smith, Chairman of CIPH on June 28, 2016 in Banff, Alberta during CIPH’s 84th
Annual Business Conference.
Through this MOU, both associations expect to:
- Work cooperatively to exchange information on pertinent issues via publications, reports, association conferences and industry meetings.
- Promote knowledge and understanding about Manufacturers’ Representatives so that both manufacturers and customers can know the benefits of buying and selling through multiple-line, independent sales professionals.
- Safeguard the interests of Manufacturers’ Representatives with respect to government agencies and regulatory bodies, and safeguard their success by being a resource for their legal rights.
- Offer education and training programs, publications and opportunities for peer and principal interface.
- Bring together in-kind and additional resources to facilitate improved communications between CIPH and AIM/R with respect to their ongoing activities.
AIM/R President Stew Chaffee addresses Delegates and Companions at CIPH’s 2016 Annual Business Conference, Banff, Alberta.
“This MOU will promote and facilitate mutual cooperation between AIM/R and CIPH and will provide more robust programs and services to our respective Agent members in North America in the Plumbing and Heating Industry”, reported Stew Chaffee.
Siân Smith agreed, stating, “Our organizations focus their missions on delivering educational, networking and business expertise to our members. Combining our resources to address the unique needs of our Manufacturers’ Agent members will only strengthen our relationship. This MOU will facilitate these worthwhile activities on a more North American basis.”
