British Columbia


President Tim Main (Xylem) reports:  The BC Region hosted its Annual General Meeting and golf tournament at the Surrey Golf Course on May 10th. The Region will host a joint Golf Tournament with MCA BC on September 21st at Meadow Gardens. On November 1st BC Region will be hosting an Industry Evening prior to CIPHEX West at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The speaker will be Brian Thwaites, the "Brain Trainer", who was the keynote at Edmonton Region's recent Industry Evening. For more information please contact Kathryn Kubossek.




Newly elected President Joseph Parenteau (IPEX) reports: The Board held its 2016-2017 planning meeting in May and also assigned roles for the year. The next Edmonton Region Event will be on September 22nd where attendees will enjoy a presentation on leadership and have the opportunity to network over a wine tasting. Newly elected President Don Shumansky (IPEX) reports:  The Region AGM was held on April 21st with a reception and panel discussion. Participants included Russ Wynn (BA Robinson), Garth Anderson (BMI Canada) and Stu Davidson (Points West Marketing). More than 40 members were in attendance. Great questions came from the floor about the experiences and skills developed by the panelists to have such a diverse and successful career. Newly elected President Steven Banick (Wolseley Mechanical) reports: The Annual Spring Golf & AGM was held on May 19th at The Legends Golf Club in Warman, SK. There were 17 members in attendance for the event. Prizes such as gift cards were distributed to players based on their team’s performance throughout the day. Profits generated by this event will go toward future programming and events. The next Region Event will be the Fall Golf & Member Meeting held on September 1st at Tor Hill Golf Course in Regina. For more information please contact Joshua Kurkjian.



President Kevin Young (Emco) reports: CIPH is sponsoring a Manitoba Region Habitat Build this summer. There are 19 members signed up to participate in the build. The CIPH National Board will attend a Habitat for Humanity ceremony hosted by Manitoba Region on the morning of September 14th. The recipient family will also be in attendance. The following week, we will be holding our Fall Golf tournament on September 22nd at Glendale Country Club. The format is new with a luncheon being held prior to tee-off. Newly elected President Paul Blaik (Independent Mechanical Supply) reports: A successful Region Business Meeting and AGM was held on April 14th, with 127 members in attendance. Media pundit Rex Murphy was the featured speaker. The Ontario Region Golf Tournament will be held on September 20th at Brantford Golf & Country Club. The 2016-2017 Business Meeting program has been set with the first meeting being held on October 19th with guest speaker Sal Guatieri from BMO. Newly elected President André Descôteaux (Deschênes et Fils Ltée.) reports: 63 members attended the Annual General Meeting at Gibby’s restaurant in Old Montreal. The Region Board was reappointed for the 2016–2018 period. Thank you to Sylvain Fournier (Moen) who after a busy two-year term will now serve as Past President. 98 golfers showed up for the Quebec Region Golf Tournament on June 2nd, but unfortunately the event was rained out. The next region event will be a plant tour on Thursday, October 13th. For more information please contact Claude Robitaille.



President David Harris (Harris Atlantic Sales) reports: CIPH Maritime Region’s First Business Meeting & Dinner for 2016-2017 took place on May 17th at the Delta Beausejour in Moncton, NB with speakers Ralph Suppa and 2015-2016 CIPH Chairman Siân Smith (Noble Corp) who provided a update on CIPH's key activities and initiatives. 51 members were in attendance. The Region is also in the planning stage for an industry tour, business meeting and dinner for September in Halifax, NS. Newfoundland & Labrador


President John Ozon (Kerr Controls) reports: A successful Industry Forum was held on April 5th at the Capital Hotel. In attendance were Contractors, Wholesalers, Manufacturers' Agents and Officials from Municipalities. The forum was moderated by CIPH President and General Manager, Ralph Suppa. The panel consisted of Adam Rickert, Owner, Hotwater Systems, Sylvester Crocker, Manager, Regulatory Services, City of St. John’s, John Ozon, Branch Supervisor, Kerr Controls, and Dave Dawe, Procurement Coordinator, GJ Cahill, Ltd. The Newfoundland Region Golf Tournament was held on July 14th with 30 members in attendance.
