It’s the summer and though most are not thinking about their heating systems, the Canadian Hydronics Council is taking care of important business. In June, at CIPH’s Annual Business Conference (ABC) in Banff, the Council transitioned from the leadership of Mike Miller (TACO) to that of Dave Hughes (NAIT). Dave has been a long serving member of the Council, holding the role of Vice-Chair for the last two years before accepting the chairmanship. Mark Evans (Viega) will serve as Vice-Chair with Dave for the ensuing 2-year term.
Also at ABC, outgoing chair Mike Miller was recognized with the Young Executive Society award for those under 40 making significant contributions to the Association by volunteering on a committee or council for more than three years. Mike has been an important voice within the Canadian Hydronics Council for the better part of a decade and this was a fitting honour as he completed his chairmanship. The Council looks forward to his continued support as the past chair.
Over the summer the Council is working on two important initiatives for the fall. One is the Canadian Hydronics Conference in conjunction with CIPHEX West in Vancouver, November 2 & 3. The Conference features a strong lineup of hydronics workshops as well as early bird and premium options to save you money and gain increased access.
Also this fall and winter, the Council is looking to debut new course offerings comprised of components of our Certified Designer and Certified Installer programs. This will bring the highest level of technical learning to new communities, raising the bar for the industry at a time when prospects are looking good. Stay tuned for more information and specific course locations and descriptions.
