At this year’s meeting for the Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing on August 16, 2016, Natural Resources Canada presented an update on the efforts to harmonize adoption dates and test protocols with the US DOE. With the release of Amendment 13, work is moving ahead on other amendments with an aggressive work plan over the next 4 years. NRCan has begun talks with the industry on aligning test methods and adoption dates for energy efficiency requirements on products. Regulatory alignment with the provinces was also on the agenda to promote harmonization via the Agreement on Internal Trade.
