CIPH is Hiring a Program Manager for PMAC

CIPH is looking for a dynamic individual to be the Program Manager to manage all activities of the Plumbing Mechanical Advisory Council (PMAC).  The program manager will be responsible for carrying out programs and coordinate activities to meet the Councils and members needs as they relate to plumbing codes, regulations and standards.


The main purposes of the Council are:

  • To promote uniformity in Canadian plumbing codes, regulations and standards.  
  • To ensure that any deviations from uniformity are necessary.  
    To inform, educate and lobby as necessary to achieve uniformity.
  • To maintain a working liaison with standards writing organizations, certification organizations, code writing bodies, inspection authorities and government ministries.
  • To serve as a technical advisory committee in the evaluation and development of plumbing codes and regulations, standards, certification to standards and interpretation of plumbing codes.
  • To evaluate and provide comment and/or technical advice as necessary regarding proposed changes to regulations which affect product.

Job Function:

  • Manage all activities related to the Plumbing Mechanical Advisory Council including planning, management and logistics
  • Meeting agendas, minutes and follow-up
  • Budget planning and execution
  • Coordination, and promotion of technical webinars
  • Long range planning and execution
  • Government relations including liaising with regulatory and legislative decision-makers, code committees and standard development organizations
  • Liaising with allied associations

Skills Required:

  • Must be able to manage volunteer committees including working with committee chairs to set agendas, prepare minutes and provide follow-up
  • Should be capable in dealing with stakeholders including the public, association members, bureaucrats and politicians
  • Should be skilled in meeting planning and event management
  • Must be willing to travel

Technical Skills:

  • Think analytically and strategically
  • Analyze policy and create positions and recommendations to government stakeholders
  • Must have effective communication skills including writing and presentation skills
  • Should be creative and flexible and able to respond to a variety of situations
