Carl Burt

Director

President
Par Four Plumbing Products Inc.
, St. John's, NL

In June 1984, I left the Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador to join, as a partner of CIPH Honorary Life Member Ken Partington, in a new agency “par four” and outright own “par four PLUMBING PRODUCTS INC” in June 1992.

In 1991 I was a founding member of CIPH NL region board and that involvement has continued to now, including some highlights such as :

  • 2 times as NL chapter President (1999-2001 and 2011-2013)
  • 2 Habitat for Humanity projects (1997 Ed Schreyer 7 blitz build and 2010 Cabot build)
  • 2 CIPH Roadshows (2007 and 2016).

The experience had been very rewarding and continues to be both challenging and exciting with our vibrant, active and resourceful local regional chapter pursuing and facilitating such topics as backflow certification, counterfeit and non- compliance issues, as well as the evolution of an Inspectors Council, to highlight a few.

When not involved in industry initiatives, I have enjoyed an exciting career in high level sports, such as Rugby and as a FINA International Official for Water Polo Canada, refereeing matches at the World Championships since 1995.

Of course my proudest and greatest gift has been my family and wife, life partner of 30 years, Donna, and my ever supporting children, Christopher (28 –lawyer), Megan (26 –Architect), and Nicole (24 –Registered Massage Therapist).

I now look forward to a new “chapter” doing my small part on the CIPH National Board.
