Stephen Apps

Program Manager


Stephen Apps joined the Institute in 2004 following 10 years professional experience as a manager in the not-for-profit charitable health sector. Stephen is currently responsible for overseeing the activities of CIPH’s Industrial Pipe, Valves & Fittings Council, Education & Training Council, Membership Committee, Canadian Water Systems Council and Manufacturers' Agents Council. 



Nancy Barden

National Region Manager


Nancy Barden joined CIPH in 1992 after completing a three year Hotel and Resort Management program at Georgian College in Barrie. Nancy has provided management to many programs, committees and councils within CIPH. She is currently the Program Manager responsible for CIPH’s Annual Business Conference and National Region Manager for the 9 CIPH Regions.


Kathy Boonman

Manager, Operations & Ontario Region

Kathy Boonman has joined CIPH as Manager, Operations & Ontario Region. Kathy is responsible for providing leadership and office management to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She also assists the Ontario Region President and Board in planning and executing Board and Business meetings. Kathy has over 15 years of experience in Operations and Office Management, providing financial and event management support in both the not-for-profit sector at Colon Cancer Canada and in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry.




Elizabeth McCullough, CDE

General Manager - Trade Shows


Elizabeth McCullough first joined CIPH in 1992. She works with the CIPH Trade Show Advisory Committee, the Public Relations Committee and is a member of the CMPX Show Committee. Elizabeth has been an active member of the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) and was inducted into CAEM’s Hall of Fame in 2011. Elizabeth is a graduate of McMaster University.



Geeta Persaud

Program Assistant, Events & Administration


Geeta joined CIPH in 2014 as a Receptionist and has since worked as an Administrative Coordinator as well as her current role as Program Assistant, Events & Administration. Geeta has an extensive knowledge of the CIPH Database, as well as its Members and uses her expertise to assist with the Management of Events and Region Coordination.



Marian Speelman

Executive Administrative Assistant



Marian joined CIPH in 2002 as a receptionist and has since worked as an administrative assistant as well as her current role as program assistant. Marian has an extensive knowledge of the CIPH database, as well as its members, and uses her expertise to assist with the management of events and trade shows.



Caitlyn Stewart

Program Assistant,

Marketing & Communications



Caitlyn joined CIPH in September of 2016 as the Program Assistant, Marketing & Communications. Previously, Caitlyn worked for four years in the publishing industry in sales and marketing. She graduated from Queen's University with a BAH in English and in History, and a B.Ed from Queen's Teacher's College. 



Matt Wiesenfeld

Program Manager


Matt Wiesenfeld has a wealth of experience in marketing, communications, event management, fundraising and financial management in both the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. He has a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Event Marketing from George Brown College. Matt is responsible for the Canadian Hydronics Council and CIPH’s Charity Committee, which spearheads the Institute’s support of Habitat for Humanity Canada.



Kevin Wong, CAE

Technical Advisor


Kevin brings 6 years of working experience in the environmental consulting sector. In addition he has brand management skills garnered from working with Cimatec Engineering in Toronto. As a scientist with Jacques Whitford, Kevin has over 6 years academic and professional experience undertaking water sampling, data analyses and hydrological modeling. Kevin provides technical expertise to CIPH and manages the Plumbing Industry Advisory Council.



Louis Yu Tim Lun



With more than 10 years of accounting experience in different sectors of the Mauritian economy, Louis brings a strong working knowledge of the full accounting cycle. He has expertise in the preparation of financial budgets and financial statement and holds an advanced certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounts from the International Association of Bookkeepers.



Ralph Suppa, CAE

President & General Manager


Joining the association in 1988, Ralph has worked closely with industry members, associations and government over the past several years, to develop codes and standards. He was appointed President & General Manager in 2002. He holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) and is a graduate of York University in Toronto.
