Toronto’s Best Bathroom Contest

Sure to Draw A Big Response

Toronto, Ontario, February 5, 2004 . . . Torontonians have an opportunity to make their opinions felt by participating in Toronto’s Best Bathroom Contest.  The contest is part of Focus - CIPHEX Ontario 2004, the premier trade / consumer show for the plumbing, hydronic heating, HVAC and water quality industries.  The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating hosts Focus - CIPHEX Ontario 2004 at the National Trade Centre on March 4th, 5th and 6th.

Everyone has an opinion on public washrooms and what constitutes the best amenities!  What makes a bathroom stand out from the rest?  It can be an attractive design, effective use of technology, accessibility or overall creativity.  The organizers simply want to know what would make the people of Toronto rank a public washroom  “the best”.  Toronto’s top public washroom will be selected by popular vote.  Entering the contest is very simple.  Contestants have to visit a public washroom and then report in 50 words or less on the facility.  Contestants can fax (416-695-0450) or e-mail (info@focus2004.ca) their report.  Entry forms are available on line at www.focus2004.ca.  The contest closes at noon on Wednesday, March 3rd.  A winner will be announced on March 6th.

A contestant who nominates the top pick will win a two-hour in-home design consultation with Kimberley Seldon, host of “Design for Living” on HGTV and a regular on City-TV’s “City Line”.  The owner of the best bathroom will receive an official certificate and commendation from the show organizers.  Previous hotel and restaurant winners have received extensive media coverage.

At the other end of the scale, then there’s Toronto’s Worst Bathroom Contest, in which consumers will have the chance to win more than $4,500 in home improvement products from American Standard and Moen by submitting photographs of their “pre-renovation” bathrooms.

Information and entry forms for both contests are on the web site at: www.focus2004.ca
