Philip will cover the National Research Council and Codes Canada activities and just how they relate to the Heating and Plumbing Industries.  CIPH Maritime Region wants to support our industry in preparing for the upcoming changes to our sector. The topics covered will be:

RALPH SUPPA, president and general manger of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating, has played a key role in the development of CIPH programs and services since joining the association in 1988. He was appointed president and general manager in 2002. During his career with CIPH, Suppa has managed key councils and committees.  Suppa holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives and is a graduate of York University in Toronto. He is also a past president of the Trillium Chapter of CSAE and a current director of the National Association of Wholesaler Distributors Institute Board of Directors.


PHILIP RIZCALLAH is Acting Director, Building Regulations, Construction, at the National Research Council. Philip graduated from Dalhousie University, and Technical University of Nova Scotia with Bachelors Degrees in Science and in Mechanical Engineering. He has held positions in construction and safety for over 25 years and is currently responsible for overseeing the coordination and the development of Canadas National Building, Plumbing, Energy and Fire Codes.He is also the Policy Liaison to the Provincial Territorial Policy Advisory Committee on Codes. Philip has also held positions as a Fire Protection Engineer with Federal Fire Authority (Federal Fire Marshals Office) in the Atlantic Region and in Ottawa.
