Module 2: Heat Sources for Hydronic Heating

  • Closed loop vs open loop hydronic systems
  • Hot water boilers; Non condensing & condensing boilers
  • Hot water tanks
  • Heat Pumps and Solar systems
  • Sample boiler selection and sizing parameters 

Module 3: Heat Emitters for Hydronic Heating

In this one hour session you will learn about:

  • Radiator types:  Cast iron, Copper fin tube, Cabinet, Panel, Towel warmer,
  • Fan coil, air heating
  • Radiant floor heating
  • Indirect domestic hot water heating
  • Snow melting
  • Pool heating
  • Hybrid Multi-Function systems


PRESENTER

 

Rob is an industry veteran with more than 35 years experience in the hydronic heating industry working for leading manufacturers Viessmann and Uponor. He is a specialist in boilers, hydronic controls, solar water heating: design, sizing and troubleshooting. Rob is an experienced trainer with more than 1000 seminar days taught. He is also a Technical Consultant, Codes and Standards for the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating.
