Celebrating Western Canada’s largest Plumbing, Hydronics, HVACR and Water Treatment event

CALGARY (November 6, 2018) – Knowing the province faces a looming shortage of tradespeople, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating has issued an open invitation for skilled trade students to attend this year’s CIPHEX West, Nov. 7-8 at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park.

It’s the biggest tradeshow for plumbing, hydronics, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and water treatment in Western Canada.

“Over the next five years a good number of baby boomers are going to retire, which will create a lot of amazing opportunities for young people to join our industry,” says CIPH Chairman Allen Taylor.  “By inviting these talented students to CIPHEX West, they’ll be exposed to the innovating work our members do and, of course, have a great chance to meet a lot of people looking to hire new thought leaders.”

CIPHEX West is a must-attend event for contractors, wholesalers, engineers, builder managers and other industry professionals looking for new products and technologies. More than 200 exhibitors from Canada, the United States and around the world will be in Calgary for the two-day event to showcase the very latest products and technologies.

CIPH has specifically invited students from Medicine Hat College, Red Deer College and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  Taylor, however, stressed that all students are welcome to attend.
They can register at - which gives them free admission to the trade show by midnight November 6. Students with proper ID can register on-site.

“If there was ever a learning and development opportunity for students, it would be attending an event of this kind,” adds Taylor. “In addition to walking the exhibit halls, students will have networking opportunities and will be able to attend our full slate of seminars.”

A variety of topics on new plumbing codes and standards, new trends in heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and emerging technologies are planned for 2018 – including the 4th edition of the Canadian Hydronics Conference.
