CIPH along with allied associations have been active on developing position statements to NRcan’s Amendment 14 and 15 relative to water heaters and boilers. Letters can be found here and here.

Amendment 15 was pre-published in the Gazette part I mostly intact per technical webinars for commercial water heaters and residential and commercial boilers.  The final publication in part II is expected sometime late Q2 2019. CIPH continues to be disappointed with lack of back up information in the cost-benefit analysis especially for the rationale requiring commercial boilers and commercial instantaneous water heaters to be condensing for both new construction and retrofit applications. We continue to await confirmation regarding the definition of a commercial tankless water heater and the intent of NRCan’s requirements.
