Transforming and Modernizing the Delivery of Ontario’s Building Code Services

CIPH attended the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Regional Meeting at the City of Vaughan on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. The meeting was in regards to launching a consultation on potential changes to the delivery of building code services.


The meeting focused on many different regulatory aspects. Its goal was to discuss a new path forward for building code services, getting people working in the building sector, promoting sustainability and transparency in the Building Code profession, building Code administration and enforcement as well as Improving building sector supports. The overall achievement for the change is to improve services for the Building Sector, better services for Ontarians, looking at ways to help smaller municipalities that do not have the budget as well as a more digital first approach services.
