Another year has managed to fly by and as we head into December it provides an opportunity to reflect back on our industry. CIPH continues to deliver to its members a wealth of benefits and information. I have been a part of this volunteer organization for over 30 years and I believe it continues to increase its relevance to its members, government and allied associations. This year has been no exception. Highlights were the Day on the Hill in Ottawa, the MCEE show, ABC in Charlottetown, the Presidents Summit and the recently released CIPH video. These events were excellent examples of the work CIPH does to enhance our industry and to provide opportunities for growth and networking.

For me, this has been the pinnacle of my volunteering with CIPH. When I first became involved, I certainly was not looking to or even thought about being the Chairman of the Board. I just wanted to give back to our industry and meet some people. Along the way I have met many people and made some friends right across this country. What an honour it has been to represent the CIPH family since June.

I have had the pleasure of hosting the Presidents Summit, attending the HRAI and MCA AGM’s as well as representing CIPH and more specifically the CIPH Agents at the AIMR conference. We hosted a Town Hall meeting in Toronto and by the time you see this will have met with the Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver regions.

The work being done by the regions across this country really emphasizes how fortunate CIPH is to have the committed volunteers that work so hard on your behalf.

To close, I would be remiss in not thanking the CIPH team led by Ralph Suppa. Always there for any assistance and constantly looking for ways to enhance the role CIPH plays in Canada and North America.

I hope that you, too, see the fantastic work being done by CIPH across the country and that maybe you will consider giving the gift of time in your area of the country in the coming year.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous year in 2020!
