The Canadian Hydronics Council met with the program manager Mitra Bahri and the chair of the Canadian Committee on Indoor Air Quality (CCIAQ) Hans Schleibinger, on September 21st 2021 under the auspices of the National Research Council NRC.

The goal of the Council was to convince the committee that representation by the Canadian Hydronics Council representing the voice of the hydronics industry is important to their committee. Prior to making the request of the committee, the chair of the CCIAQ indicated a willingness to have CHC present to their committee. The committee does not directly create code references but has created modules of best practices that are available to building owners, contractors, and laypersons. Members of CHC presented some technical material in support of their proposal to be included on the committee, which will be beneficial information to be included in a 16th module. It also was pointed out that they are not a lobby group and as such have no direct input to either government policy or code committees. The CHC is going to meet to evaluate the information received from the committee and then discuss steps moving forward.
