We advocate for you as the industry voice, speaking on your behalf. We work with legislators to influence policy and create codes and standards that benefit the industry and the public. Our annual "Day on the Hill" meetings with senior government officials promotes regulatory harmonization, climate change adaption, and timely adoption of national codes.
 
WE FOSTER NETWORKING
We foster networking by providing face-to-face and virtual opportunities to meet with decision-makers and other executives through meetings, workshops, committees, councils, trade shows, learning forums, recognition programs, and social events. We are your local representative, making it easier for you and your teams to get involved. Our 9 active regions across Canada include: British Columbia, Calgary, Edmonton, Manitoba, Maritime, Newfoundland/Labrador, Ontario, Québec and Saskatchewan. We keep local members connected by engaging over 1,800 members annually at region events.

• Manufacturer 

Any Person, being a manufacturer of Plumbing and Heating products, shall be eligible to become a Voting Member provided an important portion of their business is the modification or transformation of materials and/or the assembly of parts in Canada to products that are used in the Plumbing and Heating industry. The company must have been in business based in Canada for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.

Basic Dues: (Based on your company's total Canadian Annual Sales, includes Head Office Warehouse & Subsidiaries)

  • On sales of over $50 million - $6,075
  • On sales of $25 million to $50 million - $5,180
  • On sales of $10 million to $25 million - $3,670
  • On sales of $1 to $10 million - $2,130

Additional Dues:

  • Plus $150 for each Province in which your plumbing, heating, hydronics, waterworks and industrial PVF products are distributed and sold either directly or indirectly. (maximum: 10 provinces or $1,500)
  • Plus applicable GST/HST

• Wholesale Distributor 

Any Person, being a shall be eligible to become a Voting Member provided they buy from at least one major manufacturer serving their locality in six or more of the following ten product categories, at least one of which must be category one. Such members shall not be directly involved in the installation of such materials.

  1. Full line of plumbing fixtures *required
  2. Full line of faucets and plumbing trim
  3. Tubing and pipe
  4. Water heaters
  5. Industrial pipe, valves and fittings
  6. Full line of drains
  7. Hydronic equipment
  8. Potable water system equipment
  9. Waterworks pipe, valves and fittings
  10. Heating equipment, controls, sheet metal and accessories.

The company must have been in business based in Canada for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.

Basic Dues:(Based on your company's total Canadian Annual Sales, includies Head Office Warehouse & Subsidiaries)

  • On sales of over $100 million - $6,075
  • On sales of $50 million to $100 million - $5,180
  • On sales of $20 million to $50 million - $3,670
  • On sales of $1 to $20 million - $2,130

Additional Dues:

  • Plus $175 for each company location that inventories and sells one or more of plumbing, heating, hydronics, waterworks and industrial PVF products. (maximum: 100 locations or $17,500)
  • Plus applicable GST/HST

Any Person, being a wholesaler distributor shall be eligible to become a Voting Member provided they buys direct from at least one major manufacturer serving their locality in each of the product categories listed under one or more of the following specialty wholesaler options. Such members shall not be directly involved in the installation of such material.

• Master Distributor

Any person being a Canadian Corporation with a sales staff and inventory in Canada shall be eligible to become a voting member provided an important portion of their business revenue is derived from the warehousing and sales of EXCLUSIVE Plumbing and Heating products to the Canadian plumbing wholesaler industry. Such member shall not be engaged in the installation of, or sales to, consumers of Plumbing and Heating products. The company must have been in business based in Canada for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.

Basic Dues:
(Based on your company's total Canadian Annual Sales, includes Head Office Warehouse & Subsidiaries)

  • On sales of over $50 million - $6,075
  • On sales of $25 million to $50 million - $5,180
  • On sales of $10 million to $25 million - $3,670

Any person being a manufacturer with direct employees resident in Canada shall be eligible to become an Associate Member (Non-Voting) provided that an important portion of their business revenue is derived from the supply of Plumbing and Heating product lines into Canada. These products will be sold and inventoried through the wholesale distribution industry in Canada. Such members shall not be directly engaged in the installation of, or sales to consumers of Plumbing and Heating products. The company must have been in business in Canada for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.

Basic Dues: (Based on your company's total Canadian Annual Sales, includes Head Office Warehouse & Subsidiaries)

  • On sales of over $50 million - $6,075
  • On sales of $25 million to $50 million - $5,180
  • On sales of $10 million to $25 million - $3,670
  • On sales of $1 to $10 million - $2,130

Any Person being a Manufacturers' Agent shall be eligible to become an Associate Member (Non-Voting) provided their principal business is performing in Canada the sales and marketing functions with architects, engineers, contractors and retailers through wholesale distributors for one or more CIPH members in a defined, exclusive sales territory. The agent shall not be engaged in the installation of or direct sales to consumers of Plumbing and Heating products. The company must have been in business based in Canada for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board.

Basic Dues:

  • Manufacturer's Agent - $695

Additional Dues:

  • Plus $150 for each additional Region in which your agency has a sales office. Regions include: BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, QC, Maritimes (PEI, NS, NB) & NL.

• Associate: Services

Any Person being a Canadian Corporation shall be eligible to become an Associate Member (Non-Voting) provided an important portion of their business revenue is derived from the supply of the industry services to the Canadian Plumbing and Heating industry. Such member shall not be directly engaged in the installation of or sales to consumers of Plumbing and Heating products. The company must have been in business for a reasonable period of time as determined by the Board. Eligible services are:

  2. Pricing Services
  3. Product Certification Services
  4. Hydronics (modern hot water heating) Specialists which may include designers, training professionals, engineering services, system prefabricators, and specialty distributors
  5. Data Services

• Associate: Educational Institution 

Any person being a Canadian Educational Institution shall be eligible as an Associate Member (Non-Voting) providing an important portion of their business is derived from providing relevant education, training and support to the Canadian Plumbing and Heating industry and containing technical, general business, and/or advisory curriculum. Such member shall not be engaged in the installation of, or sale to consumers of plumbing and heating products.

Canadian Educational Institutions are required to meet the following criteria to be considered eligible for membership in CIPH. Your Institution agrees to support the CIPH through the following five areas:

  1. Career Opportunities/Co-op Placements & Career Tap – the School agrees to engage with CIPH members in their region by actively promoting* career opportunities offered by CIPH members to graduates [where applicable], and by informing members about upcoming co-op placement opportunities offered by the school as they become available.
  2. CIPH Trade Shows – the School agrees to promote the attendance of students to CIPH trade shows held in their Region, will encourage the participation of their students in technical seminars held at CIPH trade shows and if possible will engage students who are attending by tasking school assignments related to the show. (CIPH will advise the school about any upcoming shows in the region.
  3. Careers Fairs – the School agrees to promote and furnish a minimum of 2-3 complimentary registration to careers fairs hosted by the school to CIPH within their region.
  4. CIPH Public Relations – the School agrees to promote and engage their students in future CIPH Public Relations promotional efforts such as World Plumbing Day where applicable as well in principle to other CIPH PR initiatives
  5. Training & Education – the School agrees to promote appropriate education and training programs and offer preferential pricing to CIPH members for these programs.
